4 eventful days in a row, seems like summer's off to a good start. Watching the stars, city lights and discussing past, present, and future plans with Doane and Vic off the Fremont Hills made me realize (once again) how much stuff I have yet to do, accomplish, and experience. Actually, there's a lot about myself that I want to change to be the person I want to be.

Such as, I want to be a cultured person and know and appreciate lots of languages, arts, behaviors, politics, religions and ways of life around the world. But it would seem almost hypocritical of me to be cultured in all cultures except the one I SHOULD know the most about. I can't speak Vietnamese fluently, I don't observe or know about any traditions, I almost never go to the temple or do anything Buddhist, nor do I own anything resembling Vietnamese culture. Heck, I've flat out refused to join the VSA and Chinese club in high school, cut Vietnamese school and Temple regurlarly in middle school, and quit Tae Kwon Do after less than one day in elementary school.

Seems like I've had absolutely no interest in my roots or ancestry, but I hope that would change. Doane brought up an interesting convo the other night that he thinks our culture is already dead, but he hopes to preserve as many aspects as he can when he has a family. Strange how ppl are already talking about future families. Anyways, I figure I might join VSA this fall at UCD since I already know some officers and members.

Its still a maby.
