As of 2:10PM today, the Making New Aquaintances Game has begun.

Rex devised this experiment, that me, Neil, and him will break from our usual Psych seating arrangement and split up to different parts of the lecture hall. Then we'll see who meets the most ppl by the end of each day. By the end of class I already beat the boys by meeting 3 friendly, funny girls (Kathleen, Goldie, & Anne), all freshies who happen to live in the same building as Neil. When the boys found out, they changed the friggin rules and said I can only meet members of the opposite sex now. What sore losers.

Luckily I still had Calculus, and plopped myself next to some guy staring into nowhere. Turns out Joe (his name) is social and we really got to know each other. And he's the only other Bio Sci major I've met. That should be useful, right? I'm really starting to like this experiment of Rex's. It should give me an opportunity to finally meet those familiar faces in class/DC that I would never take the initiative to meet.

94 degrees, but it feels like 84. Ooo... now this is the swimming weather i've been looking forward to all quarter.

Today in calculus, me and this girl next to me were small talking in class. I noticed on her papers that she has the same last name as me. Yea, I always feel kinda lame whenever I gotta start conversations on trivial stuff. Nonetheless, I end up shrinking to my own world of note taking and sketching.

weekend in m-town. Watched MONSTER with cindy, and it was less disturbing and more human than I expected. I liked it. BBQ, ruby's 19 month cousin might have a crush on me.

good times.

If me and vic didn't have the same parents, she'd be a bastard right now for giving me this wicked cold. You got the whole quad sick, next thing you know, its the floor, the building, the whole freshman class! Damn you!!!

Picnic Day was overhyped, but the weiner dog races made my day. I added some pics in "pictures!" under "picnic day" and "UCD-people". Nothing funnier than a bunch of weiner dogs running in confusion.

I just realized that I have fifty-some odd entries on diaryland dating back to the end of my junior year in high school. Most of the entries are relatable, but others just make me cringe and say "did I actually think like that?" Anyways, I think this list is still mostly relavent.

I was walking through the quad when a girl from a club (possibly cult) stopped me and rambled about modern European fascism and Mussolini's grand-daughter. Most of her account of why we should stop European nations from progressing had little reasoning. I'm very skeptical of radical preaching.

"Can you believe Mussolini's grand-daughter got into the Parliament! That's an injustice!" I didn't like her tone of voice, nor did I like what she was implying. Anyways, we engaged in a lively public debate over any evidence that shows that his grand-daughter is an up-and-coming fascist. I ended up asking for an newspaper issue of these radical sentiments. Of course, she hesitantly gave me a copy while I told her that I'll do some of my own research before taking any sides.

Its like saying that all people with a father, grandfather, etc. who was an avid pro-segregation leader is inevitably a racist segregationalist. Many people are offspring of slave owners, racists, money mongers, and white collar criminals, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they would follow the same route. That shouldn't be our logic to prevent offspring from politics or anything.

These types of situations make me debate whether I should take a minor, either in Political Science or Art Studio. Sure I enjoy art, but politics and social sciences can get me real riled up.

Now that we're doing experiments like blind bats, I think my new chem lab is pretty cool. We're united in our confusion, data sharing, and uncomprehension of the French T.A. But making my own lab procedure out of scratch still sucks.

I'm in a goofy batch of girls for lab -- a fresh change from being in guy groups in and out of class. Yea... I know way too many guys compared to girls, and yet my love life is like oatmeal... oat meal... oh meal... oh meee... Like what Mike says "We're just not players in this singles game that we're supposed to play."

Fuckin shit. Some guys are just fuckin creeps. Real fucking perv creeps.

I guess I overestimated my ability to turn away pushy guys and their advances. I always assumed that being blantantly clear and physically getting them off of me was good enough, but apparently not. So this guy was alrite at the SAM (Sigma Alpha Mu) frat house, then he started following me and Chris (my hallmate) on our way back to our building and becoming a real nasty creep to me. Then it just escalated and well, thank God Chris intervened and took that jerk away from me and all the way across campus where he belonged. I totally understand why he wanted to beat him up on their walk, cuz I wanted to, too. Yea, I can't thank Chris enough. You are a good man.

The night was neutral. Not positive, not negative, just eh-alrite. Bad drinks, overcrowded, elbows throwing on dancefloor, girl drama among the guys, ended early, and the heat... oh the heat was the worse... At least I bumped into a lot of people I typically would never see at frat parties. I saw Tung from MHS arrive real late and was like "WTF?! Whoa, where'd you come from?" I haven't seen that guy in AGES.

Staying awake in my 8 AM chem class was beyond a feat. Maby I should reserve going out late for fridays and the weekend. Or maby just every other week, especially during the middle of the quarter. Hmm... but its my last quarter as a dorming freshman and I wanna meet freshies that I haven't noticed all year, before we live larger distances apart and get too lazy to visit one another. I just don't know.

Thursday, April 08, 2004

Its thursday evening and I'm homeworking, soon dc-ing, then working out with Wendy, then partying at the Pineapple (Pi Alpha Phi) house, then going to 8 AM chem class.

Edit: Today was Wendy Day, cuz I spent morning classes, lunch, evening work out, night drinking, dancing, and after-party with her. But she's tres cool. Yea, I need more female influence here.

ooo... a guy I ate breakfast with at the DC last week sat with me in math today. And man, Rob could sketch like a crazy mofo! For the first time in math, I didn't sketch while taking notes cuz I was way too distracted looking at him sketching. Oh my... I feel so inspired to take up art classes again, hopefully a photo class with Amy this summer. I just bought some new charcoal pencils and an edger. Whee... I'm gonna go outside with my sketchbook more, maby tomorrow afternoon.

Today was workout day at the Rec Hall again. Did the bikes and ab machine. Played a little B-ball, but now the courts are just infested with a bunch of court-stealing boys. Eww. Anyways, badmitton is awesome, probably because its not a real sport. Played an aggressive game against May for soooo long and we only stopped cuz we were dripping sweat everywhere.

Alrite, I'm tired. OUt.

Tuesday, April 06, 2004

This is the time, the quarter, to get my ass back on track.

In the past 3 days, I've worked a sweat at the Rec Hall twice. And that's already more active than I've been all year. Honestly, it felt good to be in shape. Today, I didn't feel tired after stepping (and other machines) for 40 minutes straight. Alrite, gotta develop a more intense workout and keep this up 3 times a week, at least.

Homework is a daily chore and I'm ahead in the readings and assignments area. This has to be maintained, too. No slacking off Christine. It may be spring, but playtime can't distract me from worktime, not this quarter. I just hope Chemistry and Calculus are kind this quarter, otherwise I might have to murder them. Bwahaahaa. Oh what a boring entry... and my laundry needs major cleaning.

Cache Creek. Team betting. Penny pincher style. Get back. Drinks all around. Limo'n tastes like floor cleaner. Let's all play Dare and Dare in the spinklers. Big people playground is fun. Boys like to moon. Get back. More playtime. Boys like to fight if other boys are fighting. Long interesting hallway conversations with strangers. I like strangers. Get back at 7 AM. Saw sunrise. No sleep. So tired. Doing homework now. Playtime will be delayed for a later time.

First day of spring quarter and I already broke my goals. Ack.
The Alkaline Trio show last night was awesome. Too bad it was a political show, I mean, I like politics and all, just not when its used to mislead people. All the guest speaker's preaching had about 0.5% truth to it. C'mon now, I heavily keep up with politics, history, and current events too. Sure I'm anti-Bush, anti-war, and in many cases liberal in opinion, thought and action, but all those lies and holes in truth was disgusting to listen to. Hence, me and my hallmate, Nick, left an hour early. So quite frankly, all that radical left wing hate is just as misleading and fake as the bullshit the right wing media conservatives throw out.

Had to shake off all that political crap, so hit the Lambda party afterwards with Vic and Mike, visiting from Irvine. Met the rest of the crew there and it was good. I know I broke my self-descipline goals by taking 4 drinks, but they were light, and I made sure I was completely sober to watch after the not-so-well kids. Maby I was even TOO concerned with their health and condition, getting water for a lot of strange drunkards and dragging them away from getting more drinks. Dancing, dancing, chatting, dancing, chatting, it was good. No fights, no jerks, seems like Lambda's trying to clean their reputation. Possibly due to the decline in lil sis pledges?

Whatever, today is Friday and I'm gonna probably gonna hit the Chi Phi one and stay as sober as I can. We're gonna have hw soon, so might as well go out as much as I can before the real quarter begins.

First day of class today and it was pretty good. My food science professor said that its very possible to get a 114% in the class, so he's beyond cool.

Steph's up, so we just continue our menial Davis lives cuz luckily she has no expectations besides to see us. ^_^ I like when visiters don't expect a parade. Anyways, I got a bunch of free tickets to the Punk Vote show, which features NoFX, Alkaline Trio, and some other band. I don't know much about the bands except that a lot of out of town people are paying to see them. Steph and Tubby and my other visitors like them, so it should be good. Besides, I bet I got nothing to do tonite, might as well check it out.
