My Major, Biological Sciences B.S., is perhaps the most popular undergraduate major at UCD. Its no coincedence that the great majority of my friends also major in this. The upside is meeting many new faces and taking a lot of classes with friends. The downside is... taking a lot of classes with friends.

Sharing lab information and helping them understand is fine. The problem is the competition. I'll admit, I am a bit competitive when it comes to tests, grades, being the first out of lab, working out, random hobbies, and almost any menial thing that I attempt. This quiet "finish first" mentality usually stays in my head, where no one else is aware that I'm racing them.

Unfortunately, my friends caught on. They found out my study tactics, my grade on last week's "murderous" midterm, and my work out approach (competing without them knowing!). They used to think that I was a study whore, nerding it up everyday. Lie! I study less than them. If studying were a race, I do bursts of sprints while everyone else is doing cross country. Anyways, now I'm taking a lot of crap for doing well while everyone else isn't. All this back talk and attitude. What gives?

I'm gonna take more classes next quarter to be ahead again. Then I'd be a lecture hall loner again and won't have to compete against my friends.
