sitting in my CALCULUS lecture and tons of kids are asking dumb ass questions of shit they SHOULD have known since algebra 2. there's a reason we have to take placement tests to get in calculus, cuz it means WE FUCKING BELONG HERE. damn i hate listening to questions like the above, where the only answer is "that's the way it is cuz it just fuckin is." you're supposed to memorize the whole sin/cos chart in algebra 2, or at least precal, especially if you intend on taking calculus. dumb questions should just be asked during office hours or workshops so kids that actually READ the book can move on from the tedious irrelevant stuff.
