I was walking through the quad when a girl from a club (possibly cult) stopped me and rambled about modern European fascism and Mussolini's grand-daughter. Most of her account of why we should stop European nations from progressing had little reasoning. I'm very skeptical of radical preaching.

"Can you believe Mussolini's grand-daughter got into the Parliament! That's an injustice!" I didn't like her tone of voice, nor did I like what she was implying. Anyways, we engaged in a lively public debate over any evidence that shows that his grand-daughter is an up-and-coming fascist. I ended up asking for an newspaper issue of these radical sentiments. Of course, she hesitantly gave me a copy while I told her that I'll do some of my own research before taking any sides.

Its like saying that all people with a father, grandfather, etc. who was an avid pro-segregation leader is inevitably a racist segregationalist. Many people are offspring of slave owners, racists, money mongers, and white collar criminals, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they would follow the same route. That shouldn't be our logic to prevent offspring from politics or anything.

These types of situations make me debate whether I should take a minor, either in Political Science or Art Studio. Sure I enjoy art, but politics and social sciences can get me real riled up.
