My very first Stethoscope! Now I can pretend to be a doctor. I've been learning all day how to take blood pressure on myself before I have to try it out on homeless patients at the clinic. And by saying "learning", what I really mean is fumbling and not having a clue of what I should be looking for. If only I knew what tapping, swishing, whistling, and lub dub sounds are supposed to sound like in my arm.
Basic procedure:
Step ONE: open up stethoscope

Step TWO: check one, check two

Step THREE: place diaphragm above elbow joint on main artery and listen very very very hard

Based on the pace of the lub dub, any swishing, or whistling, you can now tell the condition of your heart. For now, I'm still trying to hear anything besides silence in my artery.
