listening to: david cassidy - "I think I love you"

I finally got to watch Big Fish with Vic and May last night. It was good, a lil sad, but in a happy way. I like tall tales and exaggerated stories, they just won't be stories without a lil fabication.

Today, me and May had the two most juicy hot dogs ever from Home Depot. Mmhmm..

I can't believe I woke up late today... right in the MIDDLE of a midterm!

MAN! I was like the flash this morning! So I biked my ass across campus in less than 10 minutes. Took the Calculus test and finished before the rest of the class. It must've been the adrenaline rush :O)

Cram week is officially over... for now.

There's something about tests, labs, and hard classes that bring ppl together in my building. I guess a plus side to this mental chaos is that it forces me and others to get out of our rooms/floors and search for help or study buddies. God I've been talking about school a lot lately. I'm such a nerd. I'll write about more interesting things after this weekend is over.

you are so cool. and i mean it too.

New years was good. I got some cash, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see any friends due to my early leave back to Davis (academic reasons, of course).

There was a time when I felt my work alienated me. But now that everyone else has as much work as me, I don't feel alone anymore. It's very true: I'm happier when other ppl are miserable. ^_^ woO!

Anyways, after this cram week of midterms, term papers, and condensed labs, I'm looking forward to going out. All that apartment hunting/camping was exhausting. Anyone in the mood for snowboarding? or dining at a juicy steak joint?

That reminds me of yesterday: We were in our car and passed a restaurant.
Me: Mmm... Juicy Burger sounds like a good place!
Mom: But that makes no sense! Are they selling juice or burgers? I don't get it!!!
Dad: Juicy doesn't mean juice.
Mom: They can't sell juice and burgers. I don't get these people!
Dad: NOOOO!!!! The burger is JUICY, meaning it's moist, not dry, tender to eat!
Mom: Oh.

God, how I love fobby parents. o_O

We got an apartment! Yay! Luckily very few ppl knew that the new complex was already signing leases. May and Vic woke up hella early to sign one, only to find out that they didn't need to. I guess a month of bothering apartment managers to get the low-downs paid off.

Located right right next to a basketball court, pool, office parking, and a shopping center, I think I'm gonna like this place. And even better, me AND Vic get separate bedrooms with an average of $400 each. This is what New Years is all about.

Chuc Mung Nam Moi cai nha!

wow... I got a lot of homework this quarter. I'm pretty busy with four real classes. Maby it only feels hard cuz I gotta finish this damn 6-page essay on a poem...blah. And labs drown me. Only discussions are fun. If New Years weren't this weekend, I'd just stay in the library and study for my chem and math mid-term. Besides usual matters, this weekend should be good. Tet... Money...Friends...Money...New Coat... More Money...

I think I've finally adjusted to the social scene here. yea... KNOWing more ppl is definately better than just meeting more ppl.

There's only one thing to do on a boring friday night: party hunting.

So I ended up going to one of the lamest frat parites ever last night. Besides the fact that I arrived with a huge cockfest montage (thanks to all the girls on Rex's floor going home for new years), the place reminded me of a hamster cage. Muddy, packed, no dancing, no more alcohol, fenced off pool in tiny backyard, ppl desperately trying to get their cups over the fence for a piece of the kegs that only have gas left. Oh well, I prefer mixed drinks, anyway.

Yea so, conflict seems very popular this time of year. Its like a bunch of smart, middle-class Asian boys were deprived of gang-bangin that they gotta make up for lost time by starting their own brand. One floor rumbles with another. That other wants to rumble with a building. That building already rumbled with another building. That other building might have to rumble that other floor. Then when I ask who started it, nobody seems to REALLY know. They just know they don't like each other anymore. Guys are such idiots.

And every new friend I make and person I meet happens to be directly or indirectly involved, including myself. My brother IS right: Davis is a small world and nobody is avoidable, whether 2 days or 2 years from now.

Its been almost 2 weeks into this winter quarter, almost 4 months into school, and I think I'm finally getting to know my building. Not just the boys who like to vandalize the building, but the normal ppl that I can carry conversations. Yea... like the girl who lives 2 doors down from me, Denise, she was in most of my classes last quarter. I avoided her all quarter cuz May was telling me all these trivial stories of her being creepy (i.e. Shyly looking into our room from the hallway, smiling, etc.). Turns out Denise is totally awesome AND her boyfriend is talkative, friendly, and very considerate.

Then there's Kim, who I met the first day, but got too lazy to walk upstairs to see. Turns out she's really jolly and friendly. I know I'm probably not gonna be best friends with my whole building, but I'm not gonna let my quad-mates judge and prevent me from socializing with my hall-mates. Its just too bad for them if they wanna be anti-social and "above" their hall and classmates. I think I WILL go out of my way to meet new ppl now.

To smoothe the edges of a broken-in boxer
...only to have it break the hearts of millions

Omigod. Playing Mafia is fun, but now I know who REALLY wants to kill me. Flag Football in a ballroom of twenty-some couches and tons of tables/chairs until almost dawn. Good excerise...soo tiring. I'm surprised: a weekend of no drinking-- just 'ol fashion fun.

I like stripes. I like BLUE. I like blue stripes.

"Sucks for you" and "Oh I'm sorry" are very popular phrases up here.

Usually these are the responses I get when I'm heading out to class. Example: How come you're not sleeping? Me: Cuz I have class in 30 minutes, at 10:00 (am). Person: Sucks for you.

Now tell me: How does having class at 10 in the morning suck for me? Most freshmen have horrible class times, this person in particular had class at 10 o'clock PM. Actually anytime I mention that I have to go to class, I get a flood of "Oh I'm sorry" and "Sucks for you."

Maby if I'm on crutches and I have to make it to class in the rain, but even so, I would probably get sick of all the unneccessary "I'm Sorries". Whatever happened to just saying "Later" or "Bye"?

Its apartment hunting time. So I called 5 places about open houses today. I'm not particular of which complex I'm staying at next year, just as long as its close to campus/downtown davis. Hopefully I can get a spot in South Davis. Its where most of the competition is at, since its near buslines, shopping centers, downtown, and campus. Let's face it: Here, old homes are dirty and out in the boonies. A nice place is something I'm willing to pay more for.

Thank you Amy for the No Doubt album! I finished listening to a non-burned CD and now I'm happy. Eventually I'll get around to enjoying all the lovely gifts you guys gave me. So don't fret.

And yes... having Amy freeway driving will have some getting used to. @_@

New Years Eve 2003:

Went to Rex's. Went on BART with some UCD kids I barely knew or didn't know, and some Milpitas friends. Went to SF. Mingled a bit. We walked a lot. Nothing crazy happened. It was alrite. Some cherry bombs went off. Crowded. The po was out. It rained. Sure other stuff happened but I'm too lazy to ridiculously detail an alrite night.
