My first day of school today, felt like high school all over again. Except this time around, I got to see the horrid social ladder mentality (which wasn't NEARLY as apparent at MHS) in full action. As sophomores, we must stay on campus till all our classes end, hence the "circle/blob/we" kept a constant rotation of "members" at a table in the hot spot (surrounded by frats & sororities) of campus.

Now there's nothing new about this situation. However, what really irked me was when some former hs classmates, looking very regular and wallflowerish, made eye contact with me and the table. Immediately all the guys began lipping me to do something against them coming over. But I didn't, so they came over and tried to sit down.

I seriously had to leave to class at that moment, but they were persistant on sitting down at THAT particular table, even though I HAD to leave (btw, I was late to class). I saw how desperate they were to associate with these "cute" jerks. The guys' eyes wandered, constantly avoiding the visitors, and never saying a word. Meanwhile the hs classmates (who I never knew too well) were overwhelmingly flirting with the male vegetables. And that scene just looked very sad. I wanted to apologize for the boys' behavior, but at the same time, I was kinda creeped out myself.

Then later, Asian sorority girls/frat guys kept approaching and conversing with me at the table, and... well you can guess how everybody there reacted. So this is the nasty social hierachy system that ppl from other high schools spoke so bitterly about...

At last... apartment pics are finally up! This is pretty much my undecorated room:

There's more apartment pics posted. Oh Davis... the boring boring college town that turns upside down when night falls. I have to hit the gym more often. This beer belly is getting very unattractive.

A full week away from the internet and home. I'm getting used to cooking and my next door neighbor, Vivian, is awesome. We share cable tv, living rooms, kitchens, welcome mats, bbq patio space, and everything! Its like living in a super big house, that takes up 2 townhouses.

Oh yes, group cooking takes the sting away from all that hard work in the kitchen. Me, Vic, and Tadashi have been making really juicy chicken all week. The secret: ketchup, oyster sauce, bbq sauce, everything in the fridge, the whole spice rack, and some water in the skillet when the oil splatters. Cooking is actually getting fun.

Back in M-town for half a day. After this, no more internet for another week. At least I got lots of neighbors to sponge off.

Yes, I did paint my room this afternoon. And no, I'm not talking about the paint high when I say that I'm feeling great (although, I'm a bit woozy and my nose cleared up). Recently, I just had a buttload of discussions and confrontations that just needed to be said and done. Ending summer with the most refreshing week I've ever had in a very VERY long time.

Today I bumped into the first guy whose heart I've broken. He seemed anxious to leave the store, and so did I, but his friend kept talking and talking to me. And even worse, I couldn't remember his friend's name, a guy who knew me in high school and kept referring to himself as my MHS stalker. o_O.

Moving on, I went with Steph's advice, and just spilled the beans on New Guy. There's a lot out there, and if I'm not feeling this guy at all anymore, it would be unfair to drag it on. Hope he's doing okay.

This has been a strange day.

Ah yes... a revelation. Early this morning, I saw something I've been too foolish to see for myself.

So I'm dating this guy I hardly know right now, and realized that I don't really like him. In fact, I'm only dating him cuz he reminds of another interest who I thought I had no chance with. It seems so clear now. Blah...what to do now...

After celebrating Jess's bday in Downtown SJ all of last night till 4am this morning, I've realized that we're all the product of "group think". What's group think you ask? Its when everyone within a group think and behave so similarly that nobody can see a flaw. Examples of this include Apollo 13 and The Bay of Pigs.

Crunking, dancing, driving, and goofing around in a random parking garage was VERY fun. Hookahing in the Lounge was alrite; although, being sober and straight together afterwards was funnier and more refreshing. Anyways, after some conversations with other socially active Davis students, its been brought to my attention that my circle in particular does a lot more hazardous things than typical UCD night owls.

Apparently there's a big flaw in our behaviors, which should be stopped before we get too deep into it. There are some ppl that others are starting to get really concerned about. So much so, that even I, of all ppl, am getting worried about their habits and behaviors, too. There's experimentation, then there's excess. I hope to never reach excess.

Happy Birthday AMY!!!

We need to do something, anything, to celebrate this momentous day of birth. Hmm... we still haven't done lunch at SJSU, yet. That should be done and did by next week.

To make this sound like a New Year's greeting, I hope you have a good 2nd year and get the name of nicely disheveled hair boy.

AAA insurance is heaven sent down to earth. Too bad my own car doesn't have it. BUT, this afternoon, me, Vic, May's cousin, and May all headed home to Milpitas in May's car. Suddenly we felt something fall and tumble underneath us. The car filled with white smoke and shook to a stop on the left hand shoulder of 1-80 near Vacaville. At first we were a bit confused and frustrated but...

I called AAA for May, then the highway patrol came over and radio-ed a tow truck immediately. All the highway patrols did an awesome job. They quickly redirected traffic and got it started again really fast. And our tow trucker, David, was nice too. He even offered to get us a Round Table pizza after he dropped off the car.

Btw, I'm back in Milpitas now. And just our luck, Anh's truck nearly broke down on the way, too. It was burning no more gas, so he put it in neutral and we went downhill 55 mph for a few miles, thru the exit, and steered right into a gas station. Cars just suck. Mine is getting a new engine on Sunday.

My apartment is soo purdy! I'll post pics of it soon.

Last nite/this morning me and Vic went to her friends' house party in Woodland. Once again I got to know a shitload of guys and only met 2 girls. It was a really diverse party, and yet somehow, all the Viet guys managed to find me. Some interrogated me on my Viet-ness, which I probably scored very low on. No Viet first name? Minus 15 points. Others tried to pursuade me to do viet fashion modeling for VSA, which doesn't sound too exciting.

Anyways, Edison saved my drunken ass from the Viet crew and drove me and my car home. Kudos to him.

I took apart my desk. Got my mattress and frame ready, bought my dresser and bookcase, packed my clothes, school supplies, and nick nacks. The TV, coffee table, futon, chairs, are all sitting pretty.

Moving back to Davis tomorrow morning. I'm expecting 104 degree weather and hot winds. This is gonna be... a pain in the arse. Hmph, 'tis neccessary.
